Dewdrop

The cool air is moist at night
While the earth releases its warmth at night
The humidity in the air forms beads of dew
Sometimes a lot and sometimes few
The early morning sun peeps over the horizon
The earth seems to be washed anew all the way to the horizon
The dew glistens across the grass
It trembles on the blades of grass
Flowers have blossomed as spring strides in
Various purples from Wisteria to Jacarandas are in
The many shades of roses are in the garden
The sweet perfumes of flowers in the garden
A ray of light falls on the soft petals
The clear drops of dew shine on the petals
The translucent drop of water trembles in the breeze
The reflections in that drop also sway in the breeze
As light refracts through the dew
A small rainbow comes to view
The back drop of white petal for the rainbow
Shows of the colours of the rainbow
A gentle breeze blows and the dew trembles
It rolls to the edge of the petal and trembles
I look at it with baited breath
The beauty of the dewdrop takes away my breath
The motion continues and the dewdrop falls of the petal
On to the brass pot
Now it shines gold like the pot
Sliding down the smooth surface
Racing to be absorbed in the earthy surface
